Otras “luces” sobre la temprana historia política de Colombia, 1780–1850: Gaetano Filangieri y “La ruta de Nápoles a las Indias Occidentales

Through archival findings, the text opens up the horizon to interpretations over the political ideology of the so–called European Enlightenment and its presence in America. Thereby these new horizons open up discussions on enlightened languages and other enlightenments that permeated modern times. The historiography concentrated its analysis on the influence of French and English enlightenment–philosophers over the rest of the world, showing only one side of the complex relationship that exists between the continents. Here by, through the study of Neapolitan authors of the XVIII century Genovesi and Filangieri, and within the context of the production of ideas in Euroamerica between 1760 and 1850, the classic Euro centrist analysis is restated. The text shows an early political globalization of enlightened ideas, hidden by the brightness of the French lights.A partir de evidencias archivísticas, este texto abre el horizonte de interpretaciones sobre la presencia ideológico–política de la llamada Ilustración europea en América. Así, se habla de lenguajes ilustrados y se consideran otras ilustraciones que permearon la modernidad. La historiografía concentró sus análisis en la influencia de los franceses e ingleses sobre el resto del mundo, mostrando un lado de la compleja relación entre los continentes. Por medio del estudio de autores napolitanos del siglo XVIII, Genovesi y Filangieri, y en el contexto de la producción de ideas en Euroamérica entre 1760 y 1850, se replantea aquel análisis clásico y eurocentrista.
